Ajla Aksamija presented two invited presentations at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Utah Chapter’s Fall 2022 Conference 2022 on September 27. The first presentation, “Sustainable and High-Performance Facades: Design Methods and Technologies”, focused on the methods for designing sustainable, high-performance facades, and the necessary steps in ensuring that the environmental factors and energy-efficiency strategies are integrated with the design process. The second presentation, “Research in Architectural Profession: Role of R&D in Contemporary Practice”, discussed methods for integrating research within architectural practice, as well as relationship between R&D and innovation. The presentation also discussed funding mechanisms for R&D in architectural profession, and methods for research collaborations.
